Hello There!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Jean Headshot 2008
I hope all is well with you and yours, and that 2010 brings you all manner of good things: whatever you've been dreaming of, and maybe a few surprises, too. After all, there's more out there for us than we can imagine, isn't there?!

JANUARY EXHIBITION
I'm delighted to tell you that my year starts with a show in Philadelphia! My recent work, "The Vintage Series: Scientific Inquiries" will be on view at the Sol Mednick Gallery in Philadelphia. (Details at right, directions below.) These hand-embossed photomontages intertwine the history of science, mysticism, theology, cartography, cosmology and photography - and I'm very excited to see them exhibited for the first time ever. If geography permits, please come see the show in person!

WHAT'S NEXT
My 2010 teaching schedule is shaping up nicely, with weekend and week-long photography workshops in Maine, Santa Fe, and New York. There are also a few brand-new offerings, including multi-instructor shooting workshops in California and Utah with my buddy Vincent Versace. Check out the updated calendar.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Life is good ; ) My family is well (knock on wood), and I hope yours is, too. I've happily reconnected with a lot of old friends who got back in touch during 2009, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them. Sailing is still one of my greatest pleasures, and I'm particularly enjoying working with my dad, restoring "Moonglow," the 21' Gil Smith catboat (sailboat) we recently acquired. We've stripped the boat down to the fiberglass, and are redoing everything ourselves, from woodwork to rigging. Really fun! A perfect winter project, with springtime sailing as the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hoping our paths cross in the near future,

- Jean
